Stuart Anderson, South Shropshire’s Conservatives Parliamentary Candidate, has welcomed the announcement by the Prime Minister of an election to take place on July 4th.
Stuart lives in South Shropshire along with his wife and children, and has been campaigning across the constituency since being selected by the South Shropshire Conservatives last year to be their candidate at the next election.
Yesterday the Prime Minister announced outside Number 10 Downing Street that an election would take place in six weeks time on Thursday 4th July. The Prime Minister set out the many challenges that the country has been through in recent times as well as the challenges we still face, especially given conflicts in Europe and the Middle East. He laid out the foundations of his campaign based on a clear plan and bold action for a secure future.
As campaigning gets underway in South Shropshire, Stuart looks forward to meeting more residents across the constituency to find out about what matters to them and explain his priorities for their area. Stuart understands that people want to see a focus on improving local public services, securing investment for local infrastructure such as our roads and standing up for local farmers and businesses.
Stuart said:
"I welcome the decision to call a general election. It is time to give the country the chance to decide on our future, and I firmly believe that the Conservatives have the right plan for a secure and prosperous way forward. I am looking forward to continuing to meet people all over South Shropshire on the campaign."
