South Shropshire MP, Philip Dunne, and his successor as parliamentary candidate, Stuart Anderson, visited Concord College, in Acton Burnell - a leading independent school and significant employer in rural South Shropshire.
The College provides its 500 students with an excellent academic and varied extra-curricular programme from its striking 73-acre campus set in the grounds of Acton Burnell Castle, once an early home of Parliament back in the 13th century. The school welcomes pupils from over 40 countries to provide an outstanding British education.
Concord College has been recognised as one of the Top 125 schools in the world, and was recently awarded the title of the “West Midlands Independent School of the Year” in the Parent Power league tables published in December. The school employs over 300 local staff.
Philip Dunne MP and candidate Stuart Anderson met Principal Dr Michael Truss, Bursar Matthew Hodge and the Chair of the Board of Trustees Dr Colin Stanford and were given a tour around the campus by current pupils. Concord College will be the largest school within the new South Shropshire constituency at the next general election.
