Stuart Anderson, the prospective Conservative parliamentary candidate for South Shropshire, is delighted to support Back British Farming Day.
Back British Farming Day is a campaign run by the National Farmers' Union that aims to celebrate the values of British farming, whilst also emphasising the importance of agriculture for our rural communities, economy, and country.
The UK food and farming industry provides hundreds of thousands of people with jobs across the country and generates £120 billion for the UK economy each year. As prospective Conservative candidate for South Shropshire, Stuart is committed to giving farmers a voice and supporting their immense contribution to the economy, as well as their efforts to protect our landscape and our environment.
To further his support of farmers within South Shropshire, Stuart recently visited local farmer, James Mottershead, to gain deeper insight into daily challenges of farmers as well as the real issues affecting farmers daily. Topics ranged from the importance of a fair and functional supply chain that allows everyone to make a sustainable return on their investments, to the importance of affordable energy prices.
As the South Shropshire candidate, Stuart is committed to making sure that farmers in the constituency, who not only provide top quality produce, but also play a crucial role in rural communities, have their voices heard.
Stuart says:
"I am delighted to Back British Farming Day. Farmers go above and beyond for their communities every single day – they are the lifeblood of our nation. As your candidate, I would look to working with government to ensure all future policies guarantee that British farming can thrive.”
