Stuart thanks residents following election as South Shropshire MP
Stuart Anderson MP has thanked South Shropshire residents for their support in the General Election and has vowed to be a strong champion for everyone, whether they voted for him or not. Stuart’s motto is ‘listening, supporting, delivering’, and Stuart is looking forward to listening to the views of all the many people and businesses across the constituency.
In his victory speech, Mr Anderson said he wanted to "honour Philip Dunne". "I want to thank the people of South Shropshire believing in me, trusting in me, and out of the thousands of doors I've knocked I get your message," he said.
Stuart renewed his pledge to ensure that South Shropshire is the best place to live, work, and visit. Stuart’s plan is based on his engagement with fellow residents since his nomination last year; to unleash rural prosperity; enhance public services; champion our farmers; support local communities; protect our countryside; and invest in infrastructure.
This will involve working with the new Labour Government to ensure that South Shropshire’s priorities are represented, as well as the important role in our political system of holding the new administration to account in opposition.
Stuart Anderson MP said:
“Having grown up in the Marches, I am proud to represent an area that I know so well. I am very grateful to so many great people who helped with my campaign, and especially for the ongoing support of my wife and kids. I want to thank them and the people of South Shropshire for believing in me. After a closely fought contest I want to make sure that everyone’s voices are heard. Together, we are going to embark on a plan to see that Shropshire continues to be the best place in the country to live.”
